ACCESS & SOURCE CARE
Accessibility and keyboard help.
Search, read and compare
Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move through controls. Press Enter to search or follow a link, and Enter or Space to activate a button. Use the skip link to reach the main library. Reading and comparison panels keep focus inside while open; Escape closes a panel.
Reading choices
Browser zoom and small-screen layouts are supported. System preferences for reduced motion and high contrast are respected. Search results are announced when updated. PDF source links provide original page context; the source catalogue works without JavaScript.
The full cross-text search uses native compressed-data support in current browsers. If an older browser cannot open the search, the source catalogue and PDF links remain available.
Source limitations
Machine-recognized text may misread names, Indigenous-language characters and pronunciation marks. The source scan is the reference for exact spelling, illustrations, music and layout. Historical terminology and dictionary glosses retain their own source context.
These features do not constitute a formal WCAG conformance certification. If you encounter a barrier, record the page address, the control involved, and the browser or assistive technology used, and share that information with the project team through the WoLakota Project or Teachings of Our Elders source sites.
